Bethenny Frankel's beau Dennis Shields had spilled the beans about their turbulent relationship just days before his death, as The Blast has reported.

And he claimed they had still been a couple four weeks before he did the interview! Shields, 51, who was pronounced dead of a suspected overdose yesterday, spoke to Mitchell Chadrow on his "Listen Up Show" podcast, which had been recorded on Saturday, August 4, according to The Blast.

Shields contended in the revealing chat concerning The Real Housewives of New York star, "About four weeks ago we were still together."

He continued about Frankel, 47, "I was looking at something on the internet and then all of a sudden I Google her or me and she said, 'What are you doing?' And I said, 'I'm just checking to see how our relationship is doing.' "

At that, in an eerie moment given that Shields had just days to live, he laughed uproariously! The banker told host Chadrow his friendship with Frankel went way back. He had met Frankel when they were both still in college.

"My ex-wife and her were friends in high school," Shields explained in the recently-surfaced interview. "We remained friends the whole time that I was married…nothing but friends, and then after…I got separated, Bethenny and I started dating and we have been together on and off now for I think it's almost four years. That's what she told me."

Shields went on to praise Frankel, who split from her ex Jason Hoppy, the father of her daughter, as a "great mother, a great person. She's really, really smart. She's terrific in every way. "But we do break up a lot," he confided.

Shields was found dead of a suspected overdose on Friday, August 10, 2018 about 9 a.m. in his million-dollar Trump Tower apartment in New York. The New York Post reported that the businessman and RHONY guest star had allegedly overdosed on prescription pills.

Shields reportedly asked his assistant to administer Narcan, which treats opiate overdoses, when he realized his life was in danger. But it was too late.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the New York City Medical Examiner is “investigating” his death.

His passing sent shockwaves through the reality show's cast and as RadarOnline.com noted, sources said Bravo has silenced the RHONY ladies in the wake of the news. A source told RadarOnline.com friends are stunned by Shields' death, and claimed he was never known to do drugs.

Shields previously hit the headlines two months ago after he cheated death after a fire broke out in Trump Tower. An old friend, President Donald Trump's then-attorney Michael Cohen, gave Shields the heads-up to leave the luxury apartment building. Frankel no doubt breathed a sigh of relief at the time, but tragically, much worse was to come for Shields.
