Thai Soccer Boys Speak Out For The First Time Since Risky Cave Rescue

The twelve Thai boys and soccer coach who were rescued from a flooded cave just last week, are in high spirits, and coming clean about their experience for the first time.

In a press conference this Tuesday, the young survivors detailed their time in the dark cave, with coach Ekaphol "Ake" Chantawong saying that they all tried their best to dig themselves out of the rocks before authorities found them two weeks later.

The 25-year-old also confirmed that he and the boys all know how to swim, but were unable to locate an escape route after they were trapped inside by heavy rains.

"We drank water that fell from the rocks," said Pornchai Khamluan, 16.

"I was really afraid," confessed another.

A third boy promised to be "more careful and live my life the fullest" after the experience. Another said the event taught him to be "more patient and strong."

"It is a miracle," added Adul Sam-on, 14, when speaking of their rescue.

A spokesperson at the press conference told viewers that after spending time with the Thai boys and their coach following the incident, they've confirmed that all are in a stable state of mind and will do just fine when returning to their normal lives.

RadarOnline.com readers know the boys were recently released from Chiang Rai hospital, where they were being treated for malnourishment and infections following their cave rescue.
