Show Shakeup: Paula Faris Ditches 'The View' After Miscarriage Nightmare
Another one bites the dust!
Paula Faris is finally bidding adieu to The View after only three years as co-host.
Faris, 42, who is also a weekend co-anchor on the network's Good Morning America, decided to pull the plug after experiencing a "rough year health-wise."
The TV host will leave both The View and GMA in August for a new role at ABC focused on reporting and breaking news.
“I’m really grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant minds on camera and off camera,” says Faris in a statement.
“I’m excited to get my life back,” she says. “I have three kids (Caroline Grace, 10, JJ, 8, and Landon, 4,) and working at GMA Weekend and The View has been awesome, but I’m so excited to not go to bed at 8:30 or 9 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday night because my alarm would go off for work at 3:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday morning.”
“What kicked it off is that I had a really tough miscarriage,” she says. “I feel like it was in that moment that really repositioned my priority compass and our family’s priority compass. I realized that my kids need me in the stands and on the sidelines, my husband and I need that time to reconnect.”
“ABC has really rallied behind a passion project of mine, which is to launch a faith podcast,” she says. “I’m a woman of deep faith and Christian, so I’m really excited to launch this podcast in September. We’ll be taking to people of all faiths and how their faith has shaped the direction of their life.”
This isn't the first show shakeup the hit series has faced.
Last year, the network booted conservative co-host Jedediah Bila and replaced her with Meghan McCain.

Insiders told RadarOnline.com exclusively at the time Bila’s decision to leave the show was essentially made for her, thanks to her conservative views.
According to the insider, “s**t hit the fan” when Bila, 38, upset her female co-stars by claiming Hillary Clinton lost the popular vote in last year’s presidential election due to “lies.”
As RadarOnline.com also previously reported exclusively, founder and original host of the show Barbara Walters disappointed by how much it has changed since her retirement — so much so that she doesn’t even bother to turn on the TV to watch it anymore!
“Barbara never once missed an episode, even when she was traveling she would make sure the program was taped and she would review it,” a source revealed. “The content and the tone of the show was everything to Barbara. She saw it as her legacy, and no detail was too small for her to obsess about. But now, she doesn’t even watch the show!”
The insider claimed Walters, 88, believes “it’s too painful to see how much the show has changed,” and how “nasty” the show has gotten.
“Watching the ladies fighting every day does not interest her. It has become so mean that it’s hard to remember a time when the hosts could disagree but still be nice,” the source added.
