Selma Blair is happy, healthy, and sober—two years after her boozy plane incident.
“2 years sober. 2 years feeling everything and nothing. 2 years of extreme gratitude and humility and grace. I thank the lord and my friends. Thank you for the most special birthday week @fran.anania #amypines #arthursaintbleick” wrote the Cruel Intentions actress on Instagram this Friday, next to a photo of her blowing out two candles on a pretty white cake.
“I prayed for a miracle at my lowest points. I am a living miracle. Thank you. Thank you,” she added.
RadarOnline.com previously reported that Blair—who turns 46 tomorrow—put all her efforts into getting and staying sober after she hit rock bottom On June 20, 2016. At the time, she suffered a teary meltdown aboard a jet, likely brought on by her cocktail of pills and wine.
“She took an Ativan and had a glass of wine and went crazy,” Blair’s mother, Molly Cooke, exclusively told RadarOnline.com following the actress’ outburst.
Blair was removed from the plane after nurses aboard the plane found pills in her bag and alerted the pilot. She was immediately hospitalized after landing, and began her journey to sobriety two days later.
“I made a big mistake yesterday,” Blair’s wrote in a statement to Vanity Fair at the time, apologizing for her behavior. “After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.”
Now, Selma Blair is living her best life with son Arthur Bleick and a little help from her friends.
Happy sober birthday Selma Blair!
