Fashion Insiders Enraged After Kim Kardashian Gets First Ever CFDA Influencer Award
Kim Kardashian received the first ever CFDA Influencer Award this Monday, and fashion insiders are completely enraged!
"I am kind of shocked that I am winning a fashion award when I am naked most of the time," Kardashian, 37, joked as she accepted her award. "But this is seriously such an honor, so thank you to the CFDA for this award."
The reality star and beauty mogul went on to say that she had always dreamed of being on the cover of a magazine and being recognized for her style, and now all her goals had come true.
"I'm super inspired by my husband fashion wise," she added. "He really helps me with all my looks and my makeover if you want to call it that. He is my best stylist."
While the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star seemed humbled and overjoyed with the prestigious recognition, fashion insiders were less than thrilled.
"It's ridiculous," an insider told the NY Post. "I'm just completely baffled. What is she influencing? People to have a very false sense of beauty and body?"
Renowned fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone agreed, saying: "I've never woken up in the morning and wondered, 'What is Kim Kardashian doing today, and how is that going to affect my industry?' "
Other industry insiders said that the CFDA only honored Kardashian because they want to stay relevant and "with it."
"It's the same as the Met Ball. In the days of the old Met Ball, it was about New York society and fashion and designers," said designer Jeffrey Banks, who is on the Emeritus Board of the CFDA. "Now you have . . . people who are really not connected to fashion at all taking up a lot of space on that carpet."

As RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned, the star "didn't know she was getting hate" from the fashion community until a party-goer brought it to her attention!
Despite the hate, Kardashian took advantage of the spotlight to brag about her Vogue covers and give a shout-out to her now award-winning "super glam or super chill" style.
"There's really nothing in between for me. I'm either in sweats or a gown," she continued. "That's how I've always been. I've always been in a Juicy sweat suit or a dress!"
