Millionaire graphic novelist Blake Leibel, 37, has been found guilty of murdering fiancée Iana Kasian, 30, three weeks after she gave birth to their daughter.
As RadarOnline.com has learned from various reports, the wealthy Canadian killed the mother of his child, scalped her, removed parts of her skin and left her on their bed to bleed out.
The dreadful slaughter mimicked one of Leibel’s disturbing comics, in which a killer leaves his victim hanging from the ceiling after murdering him, so he can bleed out, according to Fox News.
Kasian’s mother was the one who first alerted cops of the possible crime, telling them that she hadn’t heard from her daughter and was scared for her wellbeing.
Police soon arrived at Leibel and Kasian’s home. When they barged in, they found the crazed graphic novelist lying on his bed next to his baby girl and his fiancée’s corpse.
“This was depravity. Ms. Kasian died a slow and painful death. Her daughter will never know her, and that’s because of the unconscionable acts you heard about during this trial,” Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman told jurors in court, according to AP.
“He threw away pieces of his fiancée like she was trash,” she added. “The mother of his newborn baby…He is a monster.”
It is believed that Leibel’s vicious murder was due to jealously, since he was no longer Kasian’s number one priority following the birth of their child, according to KTLA.
Blake Leibel will be sentenced on June 26 and could face life in prison.
