John McCain Tells All On Boozy Night Downing Vodka With Hillary Clinton In New Book
John McCain is spilling the beans on his pal Hillary Clinton's drinking habits! In his upcoming tell-all, The Restless Wave, the Arizona Senator describes a vodka-filled night with the former presidential candidate overseas.
In the book, out May 22, McCain, 81, recalls traveling with then New York Senator Clinton, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, and a few other colleagues to Iraq and Afghanistan in February of 2005. During a stop in Tallinn, Estonia, the group had dinner — and hard liquor!
"This was a trip that saw a pleasant evening's repast become an urban legend that recounted a vodka-drinking competition she and I are alleged to have had in Tallinn," McCain begins the story.
"I don't drink very much, and I never have. I have one or two drinks on the weekend or when I'm out to dinner with friends, and my drink of choice is vodka."
But, "we did go out to dinner in Talinn....and we did have vodka," McCain admits.

Following the festivities, McCain insists the group was stable enough to remain "steady on our feet, and in good shape to keep our busy schedule the next day."
But, he confesses, he was barely able to make it through a briefing in Afghanistan the next day.
"After twenty minutes, I was struggling to stay awake," McCain writes. " I turned to my aide, Richard Fontaine, and whispered that I thought I was going to die, and asked him to figure out some way to get us out of here."
In her own memoir last year, Clinton admitted to hitting the bottle after her crushing election defeat.
"It wasn't all yoga and breathing: I also drank my share of chardonnay," she admitted in What Happened.
And in a recent tell-all, politics reporter Amy Chozick insisted Clinton would have been the "booziest" President in decades.
