A quick-thinking Chicago-area girl was able to escape what could have been a very dangerous situation — and it was all caught on tape!
According to local news reports, the scary May 4 incident in Aurora, Ill., started after Mark Beasanski left his keys in his car's ignition when he was about to fuel up at a BP gas station.
That’s when a man jumped into the Jeep Cherokee from the passenger side of a Dodge Charger – with 11-year-Kayla in the backseat.
As the stranger sped away, the young girl jumped out of the stolen vehicle and ran to her father.
About an hour later, cops found the Beasanskis' Jeep and arrested 20-year-old Chicago resident Tyrelle Pulle.
While police continue to look for Pulle’s partner in crime, they issued a specific warning for other motorists: “This is really sad to say about society today, but, although he turned the vehicle off, you have to take the key with you,” said police spokesman Dan Ferrelli. “You have to take the opportunity away from a brazen criminal to do something like this.”
