Whitney Houston Was Sexually Abused By Cousin Dee Dee Warwick, New Documentary Claims
A new documentary about Whitney Houston’s life has made a shocking accusation about her dark family past, suggesting that the icon’s cousin, Dee Dee Warwick, sexually abused her as a child.
The film’s director, Kevin Macdonald, told Indiewire that Whitney’s brother, Gary Garland, claimed he’d been sexually abused as a child by Dee Dee and believed Whitney had too.
According to Macdonald, Gary’s wife, Pat Houston, also claimed Whitney had told her about the sexual abuse but “not given any details.”
The filmmaker told the publication that while he watched old Whitney Houston tapes as research for Whitney, he realized she was not comfortable in her own skin despite being a beautiful woman. He noticed that much of her reserved personality likely stemmed from her years of sexual abuse.
Macdonald claimed Whitney’s aunt, Mary Jones, eventually confirmed his fears that the iconic singer had been molested as a child.
