Nelson Mandela's Former Wife Dies At 81

Nelson Mandela's former wife, Winnie Madikizela Mandela, has died.

The anti-apartheid campaigner's assistant confirmed her passing, though her cause of death has not been revealed. Winnie was 81 at the time.

Throughout their years in the political spotlight, the duo fought fiercely in support of black rights.

Nelson Mandela died on December 5, 2013, after suffering from respiratory problems.
