Cleveland House Of Horrors Kidnap Victim Ties The Knot, Three Years After Freedom!
Michelle Knight — one of the three women who were kidnapped and held hostage by Ariel Castro — is free and happily married!
In a recent interview, Knight, 36, revealed the happy news, telling a talk show host that her entire life and perspective had changed since she was rescued from captivity.
"I am married," she confirmed on the show, as images of her and Mario's wedding flashed on the screen.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Knight was held hostage in Castro's Cleveland house of horrors for eleven years. During her time there, she was physically, emotionally and sexually abused by the horrific man. She had already suffered sexual abuse in her childhood, and had lost her young son, Joey, because of her troubled family life.
On August 22, 2002, Knight was on her way to a foster care appointment to reclaim her son, when she ran into Castro. He offered her a ride but said he had to stop by his house first. She went inside with him and watched as he turned into a complete monster.
"The gentle guy who'd seemed so nice to me had turned into a madman. He pushed me to the ground," Knight previously told PEOPLE, later adding that he raped her and "murdered he heart" before locking her up in his basement. Knight lived in Castro's basement for one year before he abducted Amanda Berry and brought her in. A year later, he kidnapped Gina DeJesus.
After Berry became pregnant and was allowed to keep her child, Castro began letting the women roam around the house more. Taking advantage of this, Berry screamed for help on May of 2013. A neighbor heard and called 911. They were finally rescued.
Castro committed suicide in jail after serving one year of his life sentence.
Michelle Knight previously told reporters that she got pregnant five times while Ariel Castro held her captive. She was beaten and starved by her kidnapper until she miscarried.
Knight's best-selling book, Finding Me was released in 2014. Life After Darkness: My Journey To Happiness, is set to release in early May.
