Is Mama June Going Blind? Reality Star's Eye Retina Re-Detatches After Surgery
Mama June Shannon moaned, "I could go blind," on Friday night's episode of her reality TV show, From Not To Hot.
Cameras showed the reality star's worry as she continued to have blurry vision after just having emergency eye surgery. Mama June wound up having to wear an eye patch! Later, she was diagnosed with a re-detached retina. Fans saw all the drama as June, 38, who lost a massive amount of weight on the first season of her show, tried to recover from having eye surgery on the episode before.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Mama June had been rushed to the ER by her boyfriend Geno and daughter Alana – Honey Boo Boo – after waking up without vision in both her eyes!
She said at that time, "What if I lose sight in my good eye? I went totally blind in my right eye four years ago!" Doctors diagnosed a detached retina and ordered immediate surgery. A concerned Mama June said, “I don’t want to lose my independency."
Fortunately, the retina was reattached, allowing Mama June to return home to recover from her operation. But the reality personality, who loved seeing her skinny look in a sexy red dress last year, was warned there was a 50/50 chance she would regain sight after healing.
On last night's show, Mama June realized her vision was getting more impaired while on a family shopping trip to Costco.
The TV mother was sitting in an electric shopping cart, driven by daughter Alana, when she noticed her vision was failing. June told the crew, "I don’t know what’s going on. My headaches are coming back and my eyes are killing me."

She later visited a doctor who diagnosed her with a re-detached retina. After the new diagnosis, June was wondering if she would ever be able to see her daughter Pumpkin's baby (as she was expecting).
Alana and June's beau Geno calmed the grandma-to-be by describing what the baby, revealed as a girl, looked like in the 3D doctor's picture. But it's unclear if June will be stuck with the devastating eye problems she has suffered!
