An energy-drink-slamming and "livid" Giuliana Rancic was acting like a "total diva" on the Golden Globes red carpet, insiders at Sunday night's star-studded event exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com.

The trouble started before Rancic, 43, even went on the air.

"Giuliana went off on her hair team because her hairstyle wasn't what she wanted and they were tired of doing it so many times that she just got a ponytail in the end," said a source. "She was livid."

"She also kept making the crew do reshoots of standups and such, which gets extremely annoying, especially when the venue is packed with celebrities."

The television veteran's rancor could be a symptom of the rough time she's had lately at the network that made her famous.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Rancic was forced to step aside from her coveted position on E! News in 2015 after she created major controversy on-air and behind the scenes at Fashion Police when she critiqued Zendaya's braids after the Academy Awards, stating they smelled like patchouli oil.

Rancic's questionable comment was immediately blasted as racist.

Hoping for another chance at redemption — and a triumphant return — Rancic was upset after network executives didn't give her back her former job on E! News after her replacement, Maria Menounos, had to step aside last summer to deal with her brain tumor battle.

"Everyone at E! knows that Giuliana is still hurt over being booted as host of E! News by Maria Menounos in 2015," said a show insider.

Catt Sadler, who also served as E! News co-host opposite Jason Kennedy, left the show in December after she discovered Kennedy was pulling in "close to double" what she was earning.
