The Fixer Upper reality stars Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines are in a heated spotlight over the church they attend and its beliefs, but he isn't going down without a fight, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to previous reports, the HGTV home renovation stars were slammed last week when Buzzfeed News desperately tried to get the their stance on same-sex marriage. But by avoiding to answer, the church they attend in Waco, Texas, became the target that was assumed to mirror their beliefs.

The report went on to reveal that the pastor at Antioch Community Church has a "severe, unmovable position" about the LGBT community. The scandal quickly took a turn when the publication later wanted to know if Chip and Joanna would refuse to fix up a same-sex couple on the show.

"We don't discriminate against the LGBT community in any of our shows," the network said in a statement on Dec. 1.

And now, Chip finally broke his silence with a tweet on Sunday morning: "In times of trouble.. you'll find the gaines family at church."

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, this isn't the first time the Gaines couple have faced a scandal attached to their church. During a recent interview, their marital issues quickly surfaced.

"I remember that Jo and I would get into little pickles and we would find ourselves pulling against each other on that tug of war of life," Chip said during the sit-down. "And I remember again, very vividly, like it was yesterday, I remember Jo and I came together and we're like, 'we're not going to do that.'"

He went on to say, "We believe that was a lie from the enemy and when he would speak that she had done this, or I had done that, we would kind of dig into it."
