'The Voice' Host Carson Daly Traumatized By Devastating Childhood Death

Although Carson Daly seems upbeat when The Voice cameras are rolling, the singing competition host's past has been filled with heartbreak.
The year Carson was born his father, J.D. Daly, was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He unfortunately lost his battle to the disease in 1979 when Carson was only 5 years old.
Tragedy struck again when the former TRL host's mother, Patricia Caruso, was diagnosed with cancer in 1998. Luckily for the family, she beat the disease.
"I'm sick of it affecting my family and other families," Carson told People in 2014.
Although Carson, 42, is currently married to the mother of his three children, Siri Pinter, he reportedly had commitment issues in the past because of the devastating death.
"Carson loves Siri, but he's struggling to pop the question and cement his commitment to her," a source told The National ENQUIRER in 2012. "It all stems from his childhood. His dad passed away, leaving his mother a widow, and deep down Carson worries the same thing could happen to him."
The fear reportedly forced the Last Call host to end his engagement to ex Tara Reid in 2001.
