"Satan made me do it" has been scrubbed from Josh Duggar's excuse list. After the disgraced reality star admitted that he had an "addiction" to porn and cheated on his wife Anna for "several years," he spent most of the day toning down his original apology on the family website, removing references to porn and Satan.

As reported, Duggar was shockingly honest in the first version of his apology, posted on the family website.

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever," he wrote. "While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife."

However, since the original statement was published, the reference to pornography has been removed and the first paragraph simply reads:

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife."

A second editing was later done on the sentence where the conservative Christian father of four wrote:

"The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings."

But the very early first draft of his statement had a more Biblical explanation for his cheating hypocrisy.

It originally read: "The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, in my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about." has reached out to the crisis management team the family has hired to handle their latest scandal but they did not respond to a comment request as of publication time.
