When Teresa Giudice is away, her daughter Gia will play — the role of substitute mom, anyway.
“Teresa and Gia have always had more of a friendship than a traditional mother-daughter relationship,” an insider tellsRadarOnline.com, noting that as a result Gia, 14, feels responsible for filling her 42-year-old mom’s shoes while she’s behind bars in Connecticut.
“Gia is stepping into the mother role” for her sisters Milania, 9, Gabriella, 8, and 3-year-old Audriana, reveals the insider. “It comes naturally since even when Teresa was around Gia was frequently responsible for disciplining her siblings.”

But at least now she’s getting some support from her father, Joe. As RadarOnline.com reported, the 42-year-old convicted felon is trying his best to keep life as normal as possible for the girls.
“With their mother gone, the four are totally dependent on their dad now,” a source close to the family told Radar.
Still, the days since Teresa went away haven’t been easy. “This truly is a sad situation for all of the children,” says the insider.
