A nurse who had sex with a corpse at Sherman Oaks Hospital in California was sentenced to two years in county jail Tuesday, prosecutors said.
Alejandro Razo, 62, also was ordered to serve 180 days of those two years under supervised release, the Los Angeles Times reports. During his release, Razo must attend counseling sessions and sex offender meetings.

The California nurse was found guilty June 26 of having sex with the corpse of an 82-year-old woman. She had died of natural causes at the hospital.
Razo had been assigned to prepare it for the mortuary in January 2013, prosecutors said. But another nurse walked in when Razo allegedly had his pants down having sex with the corpse.
He was soon arrested on the suspicion of health and safety code violations. Prosecutors used DNA evidence to convict the 62-year-old.
Razo’s nursing license has been suspended, but not revoked, according to district attorney spokesman Ricardo Santiago.
