'Amish Mafia' Star John Schmucker Sent To Jail

It wasn't exactly "the crime of the century," as John Schmucker's defense attorney pointed out, but that didn't stop a judge from sending the Amish Mafia star to jail.
His crime? Schmucker repeatedly drove with a suspended license. His 10th offense last December made Judge Rodney Hartman decide jail was in order.
He sentenced the reality star to serve three months and ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine, the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era is reporting.

Schmucker doesn't have to report to jail until March 31 and his attorney Steven Breit has already announced he plans to appeal the sentence and request house arrest for his client.
"Why should he languish in Lancaster County Prison?" Breit said. "House-arrest is a viable alternative."
The third season of Amish Mafia is set to premiere on Discovery Channel February 25.
