First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes cancellation?
Bones stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel will wed on-screen on the October 21 episode of the Fox series, but production sources say their love won't last for long because Boreanaz is planning to quit when the season ends in May 2014!
After nine seasons on the show, "David is telling friends that it's his last season," a source says.
And according to the insider, it's not a negotiating tactic.
Indeed, Boreanaz has been itching to leave for at least the past year. In June 2012, he Tweeted, "I'm a free agent after this season Season8. So the Bones farewell tour is in full-swing. You must always keep your options open and ready for new challenges. The fear is the unknown and that's exciting."
By January 2013, however, he agreed to stay on "at least through season nine," creator Hart Hanson said at the time.

And while Boreanaz is unlikely to return for Season 10, says the source, Deschanel is committed to keeping the show going with or without her co-star.
Fox, however, may not agree.
"The show makes a lot of money, but re-casting a lead is always a challenge," the source explains. "The network could throw in the towel if David can't be signed for more seasons after this one."
Bones' ratings, meanwhile, took a slight hit with a move from Thursdays to Mondays last year. According to the most recent Nielsen TV ratings, it currently sits at fourth in its timeslot with 7.26 million viewers against The Voice on NBC, with 14.12 million viewers, Dancing with the Stars on ABC with 13.1 million, and CBS' How I Met Your Mother, with 7.87 million viewers.
