Former Cosby Show star Raven-Symone came out of the closet in a very matter-of-fact way on Friday -- announcing her sexuality on Twitter.

"I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you," the 27-year-old tweeted to her 450 thousand followers.

Later, in a statement, she went even further, confirming: "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."

Lesbian rumors have hounded the actress for years and as recently as 2012 she denied them, stating: “My sexual orientation is mine and the person I’m datings to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.”

Best remembered as Olivia, the adorable three-year-old on The Cosby Show in the late ’80s, the talented entertainer went on to star in the Disney Channel series That’s So Raven. She’s also appeared in The Cheetah Girls TV movies.
