X-Men: First Class proved that a sequel can work. The franchise relaunched with James McAvoy and easily won this weekend's box office crown. The SciFi thriller is expected to pull in $56 million in ticket sales.
Second place went to The Hangover Part II which took in another $32.4 million.
The surprise hit of the summer, Bridesmaids, finished fifth with $12 million, but more importantly, it has now grossed $107 million. Not bad for a film that was produced for just over $32 million.
