American Idol’s Kara DioGuardi has taken on a summer job, but it isn’t outside her field, it’s another judging gig!

Kara has signed on to judge the live auditions to find the lead female star for the new musical “Cinderella, a Modern Musical Extravaganza,” and RadarOnline.com was there to see her in action as she critiqued the Cinderella hopefuls.

“I’m looking for a person with spark,” Kara told RadarOnline.com reporter Alexis Tereszcuk about the Cinderella replacement. And what if she wore a bikini, like the infamous American Idol Bikini Girl?  She would get hired! “If she’d had a good voice I would have sent Katrina to Hollywood,” Kara admitted.

Because this was a Cinderella event we asked if the oh-so-evil Simon Cowell was like the wicked stepmother?

“He fluctuates,” Kara joked. “Sometimes he’s the prince, sometimes he can be very charming. He’s more like the nagging stepsister!”

Kara was a hoot as a judge, telling one hopeful that her song with a gun wasn’t exactly what she was looking for in a sweet innocent Cinderella. The winner of the contest will star in the Los Angeles production this fall, but maybe the other hopefuls will end up on American Idol next season! Hollywood is where dreams do come true.
