Ali’s European Vacation began on the newest episode of ABC's The Bachelorette as she took the guys on a cool trip to Iceland where she took one step closer to finding her true love.
The first thing Ali had the guys do was write a love poem to her to win a one-on-one date. Kirk was the first guy to walk over to Ali while reading his poem, tells her she is adorable and she picked him as the winner.
Kirk and Ali explore Reykjavik, buy matching sweaters, and chat. Initially Ali thinks he is holding back, so that night, Kirk tells her about the asbestos poisoning he got five months earlier , which he says, almost killed him. Ali listened intently to his story and told him, “I think you’re amazing.” She gave him a rose at the end of her date. Kirk admitted that the rose made him nervous. “Emotionally I’m 100% on board with her, it makes me nervous…it makes me want to spend forever with her.”
The group date is with six of the guys - Roberto, Chris L., Chris N., Craig, Ty, and Frank. Ali takes the guys horseback riding, which she has never done before, and Ty helps her out every step of the way. Chris L. is also right by her side as the group climbs through a cave. Both guys think they’ve had a dream date.
They end the evening at the Blue Lagoon resort, which is a giant heated lake. They all strip down to their bathing suits, and Ali seems a little tipsy as she kisses Chris L., snuggles with Ty, and talks to Frank while dressed in a robe.
The rose she has is a frozen one, and she gives it to Ty. Ali says, “There wasn’t a moment today that I felt like he wasn’t there.” Both Chris L. and Frank are bummed not to get the rose.
Kasey and Justin go on the two-on-one date where Ali takes them on a spectacular helicopter ride to the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which has just started erupting as the show was being filmed. Justin had his cast removed the day before the date, and Ali seemed excited that he wasn’t on crutches anymore.
In the helicopter, they are flown over the volcano and can see the lava splashing up. “It’s super exciting to be able to get so close,” says Ali. She and Justin talk in a beautiful ice castle and then she spends alone time with Kasey.
“The only thing he has to do today is be normal,” Ali said. Kasey showed Ali his tattoo, and admitted that he didn’t think Ali was going to give him the rose.
He says that he wants to give his love, and the shield protecting the rose tattoo, to his future wife and “I am who I am and that’s never going to change.”
Ali nicely says “ I want you to be who you are,” and hangs her head to hide her crying, but then gives the rose to Justin.
Kasey is left standing alone on top of the volcano as Ali and Justin depart on the helicopter. Ali says “I am 100% positive that I made the right choice in letting Kasey go.”
Justin then said the corniest line of the night. “There were two roses given, one to Justin and one to “Rated R.”
At the final rose ceremony, Ali tires to get to know Chris N. a little more, but when she asks him about himself, all he said was, “I love Mexican food.” Ali spends one-on-one kissing time with Frank and Roberto, even showing her vulnerable side, even telling Roberto that she wouldn’t have approached him because she “would have thought he was too hot for me.”
Craig R. pulls Ali aside and shows her a fake tattoo he drew on his arm and gets a big laugh from her.
Ali eliminated Chris N. and says he is “such a nice guy,” but admitted that she “just couldn’t get there with him, and I think he knows that.”
Next week, Ali is taking the guys to Istanbul, Turkey and the preview showed the shocking revelation that one of the guys has a girlfriend. As first reported by Reality Steve Justin “Rated R” Rego is the one with the girlfriend at home, and RadarOnline.com exclusively reported that he had a SECOND girlfriend named Kimberly Kerekes who said he went on the show only to further his career.
The Bachelorette airs on Mondays on ABC at 8 pm.
