It was a smash hit weekend for cable giant TLC who broadcast the ratings number one telecast of the night on ad supported cable (excluding sports programming) on both Saturday and Sunday night.
Saturday, TLC presented The Miss America Pageant, which was watched by a whopping 4.5 million viewers. Controversial talk show host Rush Limbaugh was one of the judges, but the show went off without a sniff of scandal, just tears galore as Miss Virginia, Caressa Cameron, was awarded the coveted crown. The show's ratings were the highest for Miss America ever on an ad supported cable channel.
Then proving TLC isn't losing any sleep after the sudden end of it's former premier reality TV family show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, they aired the 19 Kids and Counting, Baby Special Sunday night. In the moving special TLC documented the arrival of the Duggar's 19th child, Josie Brooklyn. The bittersweet show was a mixture of drama and joy as little Josie was born nearly three months early on December 10th. 3.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the special arrival and little Josie's brave battle for life.
