Makeup artist and creative director of DuWop cosmetics Cristina Bartolucci, has worked on the most fabulous faces in Hollywood. From creating Keri Russell’s Felicity face in the 1990’s to working with everyone from Uma Thurman to Teri Hatcher, Cristina is famous for doing minimalist yet magnificent makeup.
The cosmetics guru gave RadarOnline.com some exclusive tips on toning down the Jersey Shore look that made Snooki famous!
1. Tone Down The Self Tanner For A More Natural Look: A lot of women tend to feel better when they are tan, as tan skin reflects beautifully in most lighting. However, it’s important not to create an overly orange look or become too tan as it will look un-natural. Rather than sloshing on tanning creams or running to get spray tans all of the time, women can create a subtle shimmery look that will be just as effective in reflecting light and accentuating the skin. Some products I recommend for a more naturally tanned complexion include DuWop’s Bronzerush - a smooth powder bronzer and gel-based translucent blush, to give a warm healthy glowing tan, flushed rosy cheeks, and an all-over sun-kissed radiance that cannot be achieved by the average bronzer, or the celebrity cult favorite, Revolotion - breakthrough blend of moisturizers, SPF 15 and sheer body makeup that leaves skin sexy and glowing.

2. Blend Makeup For A Natural Look To Avoid An Overly Made Up Appearance: The first step is to ensure that the skin is properly moisturized and toned – a face is like a canvas and must be primed for perfect application! Secondly, it’s important to select the right foundation. Make sure that you choose a shade of foundation that basically blends away into your skin when you put it on. You don’t want to change your skin color with the foundation, you just want a sheer foundation to go over imperfections and to provide a good base for the rest of your makeup. Apply the foundation lightly to avoid a caked on or layered look. When choosing a natural looking blush for your face, take a look at your skin after you exercise and note the color. Your natural post workout glow is a great color for your blush. It will look natural and enhance the cheeks, but it will not look like you are wearing too much makeup. Lastly, blending makeup is so important. The last thing you want is streaks in your makeup or to have it to suddenly end one place. You can avoid this problem by making sure to blend makeup down into your neck and blending your makeup together so that there are not streaks. This way it looks all natural instead of like you painted on your face in the morning.
3. Emphasize A Feature Without Wearing Too Much Makeup: Sometimes less really is more! You can emphasize a feature without going overboard. To make blue eyes, like Snooki’s, pop, women should select a matte color from the opposite side of the color spectrum such as an Amber shade as well as a shimmery matching shade to layer on top. A combination of matte and marbled shimmer textures in contrasting and matching shades will emphasize the eyes in a natural looking way. Also, women should select a mascara that will provide long lush lashes that won’t clump.
