Don't Feel Guilty: Drive A Green Car!

I drive an “old” Mercedes E350 and while I love the engineering; the powerful engine; the sleek lines; I am constantly nagged by guilt that I’m not doing my bit to save the environment.  But now I don’t have to sacrifice luxury to be eco-friendly as Mercedes-Benz has rolled out 3 eco SUVs (BlueTEC Clean Diesel) and new S400 luxury hybrids.  Today, Mercedes-Benz offers three BlueTEC SUVs - the R, ML and GL320 BlueTEC - and, will soon add the E350 BlueTEC sedan this summer. (The term “BlueTEC” is derived from the innovative AdBlue process that dramatically reduces emissions and enables the diesel V6 engines to meet the stringent emissions standards of all 50 States.)

Hollywood is already signing on to look hot while saving the planet – Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler, Rosario Dawson, Christina Applegate, Molly Sims and Giles Marini are behind the wheel of BlueTEC SUVs.   And even better --  a limited number of Mercedes-Benz B-Class hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (previously only in Europe) will soon be available for lease in California. (This “F-cell” car runs on compressed hydrogen, boasts an equiv. fuel mileage of 86.6 city-highway combined mpg and its only emission is water. )
