Mel Gibson stayed mum on if he will marry new love Oksana Grigorieva, and flashed his diaper-changing skills on The Jay Leno Show Wednesday, as the 54-year-old actor-director continues on the promotional trail for his comeback film, mystery-thriller Edge of Darkness.

When asked if he would marry Grigorieva -- the beautiful Russian singer who gave birth to his eighth child, 3-month-old Lucia -- Gibson responded to Leno with a coy: “Well if I do, you’ll be the first to know.”

For the nightly Earn Your Plug bit, Leno challenged the doting dad to back up a bold claim he made on an earlier appearance -- that he could change a diaper in less than 30 seconds. Gibson obliged, and finished the job in an impressive 17 seconds.

Edge of Darkness marks the first leading role for Gibson since his 2002’s Signs. Since then, Gibson has wrestled with professional turmoil after his 2006 DUI arrest in Malibu, in which police said the actor fired off a series of anti-Semitic remarks toward the arresting officer.
