In the last of a series of exclusive interviews with RadarOnline.com, hunky British ex-Bachelor, Matt Grant, gives a behind the scenes peek into life on the reality show, which he stared in on their Season 12 show, The Bachelor: London Calling.
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Matt Grant Had His Own Producer Would-Be Scandal
Matt tells how he got involved in the hit show after being scouted in a London bar, how his experience changed his life both positively and negatively, how ABC invested thousands fixing his "British teeth", how show execs totally changed his look for camera, dressing him in cheesy "realtor suits" and forcing him to shave, and what he thinks of the current Bachelor girls.
Matt says he was initially scouted by a "really hot slightly older woman" when he was on "a nightmare date from hell" at a swanky London bar. He initially thought his luck had changed and the woman was hitting on him but instead he ended up on a plane to Los Angeles three weeks later, leaving behind a successful and well paid career as a stock broker.
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Matt Grant Dishes On How Real Reality TV Is
He says he went from his low key life in London to living the fast life in L.A. Loving the fact that he could "put a smile of people's faces" and getting the opportunity to meet his comedic idol Ellen Degeneres when he stopped by her hit show, he says the downside has been the "stigma attached to being on a cheesy show like the Bachelor".
Matt says that ABC invested a "ridiculous figure, tens of thousands" on fixing his "British teeth" to give him his now mega-watt smile, and that they totally changed his look to fit their ideal of what the Bachelor should look like. Forcing Matt to shave and dressing him like a "dodgy real estate guy that sold homes in Brentwood!"
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Matt Grant "Embarrassed" By Shayne Lamas Proposal
When it comes to the selection of girls on the current season of The Bachelor Matt says that he really likes the women Jake's got and that he feels they're a "bit more appropriate for him that the women I had".
And who would Matt pick for himself from this years selection of beauties? Making a jocular reference to ABC's stereotypical choice of its typical contestant, he says he would probably pick the "white, blond haired, late twenties American girl!"
One thing is for sure, with his TV project that has been picked up by Warner Brothers, Pimp My Bride, and a possible stint on the upcoming ABC Bachelor spin off show, Bachelor Pad, we are going to be seeing a lot more of Matt on our TV screens in the future!
