Sorry, Tiger, RPattz and Octo-mom: First Lady Michelle Obama topped Barbara Walters’ Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009, which aired on ABC Wednesday night.
Michelle, whose husband, President Barack Obama, won last year’s honors, gave the veteran journalist a glimpse into the night-and-day lifestyle change that accompanied her hubby’s new gig.
"It has been a whirlwind, but it's been amazing," Obama told Walters. "I mean, if you think about this year, I had to get these two beautiful girls settled into a new city, into a new home, into a new school. We got a dog. I visited eight countries with my husband. I planted a garden. I've started a mentoring program. It has been everything. And now, here we are at our first Christmas in the White House."
Rounding out the top ten were a motley crew of personalities whose stories summed up the year that was: hair trendsetting-reality TV mom Kate Gosselin; ex-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin; American Idol show-stealer Adam Lambert; NFL warhorse Brett Favre; renowned director Tyler Perry; Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket; South Carolina First Lady Jenny Sanford, Fox News personality Glenn Beck and breakout diva Lady Gaga.
We suspect Elin Nordegren’s spot on the 2010 list is already reserved.
