New DVD: Kings of Leon Live

America’s favorite rock band this year was Kings of Leon, so the odds are good that the rock fan in your life will love finding the brand-new live DVD Live at the O2 London stuffed in their stocking.
"It was the UK that made us feel like we could take on the world,” frontman Caleb Followill has said, which is why the band decided to film the DVD in London.
And after years of plugging away as critics’ darlings in the US, KOL finally broke into the mainstream this year with the release of their fourth studio album, Only By Night. The Followill clan—singer Caleb, bassist Jared, drummer Nathan and guitarist Matthew—got their first platinum album in America with the U2-inspired album, which was the top-selling album of 2009 on iTunes, with the single “Use Somebody” as the tenth top-selling song of the year (Black Eyed Peas’ Boom Boom Pow came in at Number One).
But the guys haven’t forgotten their early supporters and the DVD is a kind of thank you to their longtime UK fans. "England is really the first place we broke,” Matthew has said. “We figured what better place to make a live DVD than where the fans have been the craziest for the longest?"
