Jon Gosselin Violates Safety Recommendations Regarding His ATV & His Kids
Nov. 9 2009, Published 9:13 a.m. ET
Jon Gosselin loves his ATV but he should never, ever have his little kids on it with him. That's according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the CPSC, "Children under 6 should never be on an ATV -- either as a driver or a passenger." The Gosselin twins are nine but the sextuplets are just five.
The Commission also points out that "ATVs are designed to carry only one person.....drivers must be able to shift their weight freely in all directions, depending on the situation and terrain.....Passengers can make it difficult for drivers to control the ATV." Most frightening, the Commission says that "Children are involved in about one-third of all ATV-related deaths and hospital emergency room injuries."
