Monday night’s Jon And Kate Plus 8 did not disappoint TLC with it’s final episode.

The finale was watched by an average of 4.3 million viewers, making  it a sure fire smash hit for the cable network.

As previously reported the last show in the series shied away from any controversy, with no show downs on the sofa between warring parents Jon and Kate. Instead they aired a series of one-on-one interviews and a couple of clips of the kids on their days out with Jon and Kate respectively.

As her parting shot Kate said that the ending was “bittersweet”  and that she was sad it had been cut short. Jon meanwhile vowed that he would “always be there for my kids no matter what”.

Jon, Kate and the kids were first introduced to the world in a one hour special entitled Surviving Sextuplets and Twins which aired on May 14th 2006 and the show quickly went on to become TLC’s number one ratings puller, catapulting Jon and Kate to tabloid stardom.

The cameras may have stopped rolling, for now, but somehow we are sure the drama is far from over, and that we will continue to see plenty of Jon, Kate and the kids well into the future.
