The antics behind the scenes Dancing With The Stars reached a fever pitch this week, and RadarOnline.com's Tina Malave was on hand for all the drama -- and even a little spice.

First there was the Paso vs. Tango team competition, in which a backstage power struggle ensued between team coaches Karina Smirnoff and Lacey Schwimmer.

"So many chefs in the kitchen," Smirnoff said, casting an evil eye in Schwimmer's direction (It might have worked, as Lacey missed this week with a bout of the flu).

Elsewhere, a different kind of heat simmered between dancing partners Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough, who were featured in a cute vignette showing Hough daydreaming about romancing his model partner on the beach, only to wake up to be smooching his own image in the mirror.

After the skit, Krupa -- who will be appearing nude in Playboy Nov. 13 -- said she liked Hough's package (btw – “package” is a broadcasting term for a pre-taped segment).

Dancing With The Stars airs Monday at 8/7c and Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC.
