Legal Expert and former View co-host, Star Jones, is lashing out at the racial prejudice which she feels allowed director Roman Polanski to avoid being arrested for three decades.
Jones discusses Polanski’s recent arrest in an interview with The Insider set to air Monday night. The director, who was married to Charlie Manson victim Sharon Tate in the 1960s, was taken into custody last month in Zurich, Switzerland, 30 years after fleeing the US to avoid sentencing in a sex assault case involving a 13-year-old girl.
In a statement released Monday, CBS said, “Jones sounds off on director Roman Polanski, saying, ‘I have no sympathy for him. He’s in jail. Three hots and a cot, that’s what you’re supposed to get. Something tells me Spike Lee would not have been allowed to chill in France for the last three decades had he admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old.’

She goes on to say, ‘Roman Polanski is very much loved by the Hollywood industry and they are out there putting petitions together…because he is white and he is rich, he was privileged.’”
Polanski has received statement of support from Hollywood heavy weights such as Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese.
