Meet Lexy: The Twitter You Hear, Not Read
Oct. 30 2009, Published 5:55 a.m. ET
Lexy is a free new consumer entertainment service launched this week, which enables callers or online users the ability to hear short, up-to-the-minute audio clips in genres such as news, comedy, sports and weather reports.
Users can personalized their own playlists, and can opt to receive text message alerts when their favorite audio clips, known as Lexycasts, are uploaded to the site.
Even better about Lexy is what you don't have to do: no downloads, no syncing, just dialing.
Said Lexy's co-founder, Tony Levitan: "Listeners can select from thousands of Lexycasts, ranging from news updates to comedy bits, from food & wine advice to weather reports. Individual posts are easy-to-digest, one-to-three minute segments hosted by an intriguing mix of well-known and up-and-coming figures we call Lexycasters. There’s no application to download, no files to sync. If you want what’s important to you, when and where it’s important to you, just call Lexy."
