Jon Gosselin Says Kate Is Lying About The Money

Jon and Kate Gosselin are just like any other divorcing couple fighting over money. Except they're doing it on national television, bouncing back and forth between various network and cable shows while slinging accusations at each other.

The latest shot is being fired by Jon, who says that Kate's claim he took out $230,000 from a joint bank account is "a total fabrication" and he can prove it!

One thing both Jon and Kate seem to agree on - perhaps the only thing? - is that Kate has handled the money during the marriage. And Jon tells The Insider that during the past four years of filming Jon & Kate Plus 8, "we accrued $2,250,000."
(Ok, maybe they're not like any other divorcing couple.)
He goes on to say: "She says in the past week I took $230,000. I have withdrawn roughly $177,000 over the course of a year, which is less than 10 percent of what we made. That's like my paycheck."
Was he getting paid to stay married to Kate? Oh, wait, he means paycheck for the show!

He slams Kate, adding "She's hiding money. We have 11 bank accounts. That was just our joint account. She had a best-selling book. Where's that million dollars?"
Gosselin insists, "I didn't want these things to come public. I didn't want this to be embarrassing for her."

Jon says he withdrew only $22,000 last week but meanwhile his war with Kate has extended to the courtroom, where Kate's lawyers filed a motion today asking to hold Jon in contempt of court and demanding the money to be returned.

Meanwhile, Jon is spending Monday afternoon in Los Angeles where RadarOnline.com spotted him at the Beverly Hills Hotel. After he Disappeared, sources told RadarOnline.com that Jon was in his hotel room with Larry King.

While the fight over money has turned into a huge public drama, MyFoxPhilly.com discovered that as of October 2008 the Gosselins had a $720,000 mortgage on their estate. The 10-year mortgage, if figured at a rate of six percent, would result in a monthly payment of $9,000.
