EXCLUSIVE: Kate Gosselin Files To Renew Nursing License

While answering viewer's questions during Monday's Jon & Kate Plus 8 special episode, Kate Gosselin made clear that she plans to extend her TV career. However, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that the mother of eight is keeping her options open and has renewed her nursing license.

In a document submitted on October 26, Gosselin seeks to renew her license which was set to expire on Halloween. For the $45 fee, her license would be renewed until 2011. While Kate is free to practice nursing if she wants to, before the next renewal in 2011 she will have to complete thirty hours of continuing education credits in compliance with the State’s regulations, a Pennsylvania Heath Department spokesperson told RadarOnline.com.

Before finding fame and fortune on reality television, she was a labor and delivery nurse at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Pennsylvania. On the show Monday, a reader sent in a question asking Kate if she would ever be a nurse again. She replied that she considered it a backup career and would return to it if she had to. However, with the average salary for a registered nurse in Pennsylvania currently at $69,000 we are sure the now single mother of eight will want to stick with her current television day job.
