John Legend says Roman Polanksi should go to jail. The six-time Grammy winner performed at the W Hotel Washington D.C. launch event Thursday night and wasn't shy about his stance on the director's rape charges.
Talking to RadarOnline.com after his set, Legend said that while some Hollywood stars have come out in support of Polanski, "I'm in support of justice. I don't get why everyone's defending his actions." He shook his head in disgust at the situation.
Polanski was finally arrested recently, three decades after fleeing the U.S.

"I realize I'm outspoken on these issues, so I try to be Judicious about what I say," Legend told RadarOnline.com. "Every story has a few sides and I try to take everything into account before I weigh in."
But Polanski's situation was too much for the singer, who even took to his highly-followed Twitter account to admonish supporters. "A man in his 30's cannot have 'consensual' sex with a 13-year-old. It is legally impossible for a child to give consent. It's rape. ..."
And Legend's sticking to his words. "There's a risk when you're opinionated but there's a reward when people connect with you," he told RadarOnline.com. "They develop trust in your ideas, and your sense of integrity. They get to know you better.
"Part of being an artist is having a connection with the fans. And they may not always agree. I'm okay with that."
