VIDEO: Sister of Ryan Jenkins Claims He Was Innocent

Alena Jenkins, the sister of deceased reality star and suspected murderer Ryan Jenkins, said she thinks her brother was innocent of gruesome charges brought against him.

"I hold onto the thought that he couldn't possibly do this," Alena said in a television interview on Friday.

"Until proven, without a doubt, I have to believe my brother's innocent."

Jenkins was suspected of murdering then mutilating the body of his wife, 28-year-old model Jasmine Fiore, then stuffing her in a suitcase and disposing of her remains.

Before the star of VH1's Megan Wants a Millionaire could be questioned, he fled to Canada, where days later he hung himself.

Reports said a young woman checked into the Thunderbird Inn, outside of Vancouver, then turned the room over to Jenkins.

Alena would not confirm that she was the one who provided him with the lodging.

When asked why her ran from authorities and hung himself, Alena said "That's really a deep, personal question, I cant answer that; I'm sure that he was distraught, I'm sure that this media coverage had something to do with it also .... its just a really sad thing."
