Jon and Kate Plus 8's Jon Gosselin opened up in an ABC Primetime Interview on Tuesday night, even tearing up at one point.
Jon broached a number of subjects including the breakup with Kate, and how she made the first move, the lovable characteristics of each of his children and the abuse he claims to have suffered at the hands of soon to be ex wife Kate.
Jon also talked about his depression saying, "When it got so bad, I was sitting there in my garage thinking I don't even sleep in my home anymore."
And talking about when it came to head with Kate, "She Kate came storming in one night and said, 'I don't even know why I got married to you.' It was out of the blue. I don't know why she said it. She should of gone to therapy. Go to therapy and figure it out. Give me closure." She ended it first, he claims.
On his romance with Hailey Glassman Jon says," I didn't leave Kate for Hailey. Not true. You can't control who you love. I strongly believe that. I just know. I have so much to lose in this situation but I feel with this person it's just going to get better.
And on going through his crisis with Hailey, "We enjoy watching movies together, sitting on a sofa. She doesn't party."

Jon denies blowing his kids money on partying and lavish spending saying, "I'm banking my money. I'm not spending my money on drugs and alcohol. For a while I turned to the bottle. I've had to watch it because it's hereditary.
"I don't want to be America's dad, America's dirt bag or America's favorite anything. Whatever they want to write, let them write it. They'll write it anyway, I've learned that lesson."
