NBC's The Jay Leno Show got off to a good start, with 17.7 million viewers tuning in.
That's considerably higher than both Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show debut last June and higher than Leno's final Tonight Show last May.

The comedian had a stellar line up with Jerry Seinfeld and a fortuitously timed appearance by Kanye West who teamed up for a performance with Rihanna and Jay-Z.

Although the audience tuned in by the millions critics have been lukewarm about the show, commenting on it's many similarities to Jay Leno's old 'Tonight Show'.
Time will tell though, as many in the know opine that the show's fate will be determined in months rather than weeks.
