The Orange County DA has charged Ryan Jenkins for the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore.
On Thursday, Buena Park Chief of Police Tom Monson led a press conference that included members of Jasmine’s family and close family friends.
Calling the investigation “a vigorous pursuit of justice,” Monson said law enforcement believes Jenkins has crossed the border on foot into Canada although nothing had been confirmed.
“We now have a warrant for Ryan Alexander Jenkins for the murder of Jasmine Fiore,” Monson confirmed.
US Marshal Tom Hession said his agency is cooperating with law enforcement in Canada, and emphasized that anyone assisting Jenkins is subject to being charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive.”
Fiore's body was found Saturday morning stuffed in a suitcase which was thrown in a dumpster in Buena Park, CA.
Amid sobs from family members, lieutenant Holliday described the way Jasmine’s body was found, saying her teeth and fingers had been removed. There’s currently a $10 million bail out on Ryan.
Fiore family friend Robert Hasman spoke to the press on behalf of the family on Thursday. “This message goes out to the family, Ryan ‘s mother and father,” he said. “Ryan Jenkins is an animal. What he did to Jasmine is unspeakable. It’s not right. Please understand that if you are helping him leave this country and we ask for your support in helping bring Ryan into custody.”
