Even in this awful economic times, ex-American Idol judge Paula Abdul appears to be having no trouble finding work.
Reports have placed the entertainer negotiating to work on ABC's Ugly Betty, playing a friend of the catty receptionist, Amanda (Becki Newton). Abdul has some sitcom experience on her resume, having previously made cameos on programs including Less Than Perfect, That's So Raven and The Wayans Bros.
Other TV staples reportedly interested in the ex-Laker girl's services include FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance and ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. The 'Forever Your Girl' singer ended her seven-year, career-rejuvenating stint as a judge on the show's panel last week via a Twitter message. The show has since re-upped with Simon Cowell on a huge contract extension, and floated Victoria Beckham's name around as a potential replacement for Abdul.
Abdul stayed mum on her plans Wednesday, as she focused on other celebrities in the headlines, sending, via Twitter, well-wishes to new mother Jennifer Hudson, and condolences to the family of Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
