PBS jumps into the reality genre with its new series Time Team America. A fascinating show that follows a team of archaeologists on three day digs in various locations to try and uncover ancient mysteries. In the premiere episode, the team heads to the site of Ft. Raleigh in Roanoke, NC, now known as “The Lost Colony.” The site, which was England’s first North American settlement, comes with a giant, unsolved question… when the settlement expedition leader returned to the area in 1590, after a three-year absence, all of the settlers had vanished! The only thing left behind was a strange word carved into the fort’s gatepost which read “Croatoan.” Can the team solve this ancient mystery? You’ll be entertained watching them try!
