Radaronline.com: What inspires the collection?

Ester: A lot of the inspiration for the line comes from Victorian furniture and antique dollhouses. I’m really into mixing an old fashioned vibe with industrial, edgy shapes. I’m doing a new line right now that is a lot more inspired by architecture, which I love.

Radaronline.com: How many dollhouses do you have?

Ester: I don’t have any dollhouses but I do have these miniature single rooms that I use as display cased around my office. I had one growing up that was a sweet Victorian ballet studio.

Radaronline.com: Why is your signature piece the entry lock?

Ester: The lock pieces are ones that most people have been drawn to. I think it’s a very iconic shape that ties in perfectly to Little Rooms and the inspiration behind the line.

Radaronline.com: Where can we get your jewelry?

Ester: You can go to www.littlerooms.com

Radaronline.com: Who is the typical customer of your line?

Ester: At first I was designing more for people like me, women in their 20s. But then as more people started taking note of the line, I realized that women and men of all ages were requesting the Signature Lock Pendant. I gave them to my two older brothers to wear and girls would come up to them using the jewelry as a line. When my brothers’ friends realized it was some sort of flirtation device, they all wanted to buy one. That’s when I realized a lot of the line could be unisex.

Radaronline.com: Have any celebrities been wearing your jewelry?

Ester: Ashley Tisdale has been wearing some of my bangles, which I was excited to see. Also, Ashley Greene from Twilight.

Radaronline.com: How would you wear your jewelry?

Ester: I always wear my Entry Lock Double Finger ring, it’s one of my favorite pieces. Daytime I usually just keep it down to that and the Stork Scissors Necklace. I also always wear my Signature Lock Pendant but on a really long chain. At night I pile on the jewelry even more, lots of bangles and rings.

Radaronline.com: What is a fun fact about your jewelry?

Ester: If you wear the Signature Lock, you will probably get the pick up line “Who has the key to that lock?” used on you. Girls who wear my jewelry tell me that all the time. I’ve heard it so many times but I think it’s great. Maybe I should do a Valentine’s special.
