After feeling the heat (and getting investigated) for his off-color comments about how his kids treat the family dogs, Jon Gosselin put on a show for waiting photographers  on Tuesday by playing fetch with Shoka and Nala in front of his home.  The public display of happy pet ownership was the latest measure in the campaign to combat the most recent wave of negative press. RadarOnline.com has also learned that the Humane Society’s investigation against Gosselin has been closed.

“We know the Gosselin’s family vet and he is very responsible. We have been informed that both their dogs are in excellent health – this was a case of telling their kids not to play with their pets too roughly.” Karel Minor, the Humane Society of Berks County Executive Director, told RadarOnline.com. “As far as we are concerned this case is closed unless we receive any new concrete allegations.”

After the news broke that he was being investigated for possible animal cruelty, the patriarch of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 brood released the statement: “Whenever my kids are with Shoka and Nala, everyone is carefully supervised to ensure that no one – dog or child – is injured. Shoka and Nala are loyal companions who we consider are members of our family.”
