It’s all about Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on American Idol tonight with a superstar-packed, two-hour finale! Lots and lots to see, in addition to the traditional top 10 group numbers, performers confirmed for the results show are season-seven winner David Cook
, the Black Eyed Peas, Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana and Cyndi Lauper. An Idol spokesperson said there will be additional performances on the finale show, but the full lineup has not yet been announced. The spokesperson also smashed rumors that Michael Jackson will appear on the finale. Apparently "Idol" castoff, Scott MacIntyre twittered that tidbit of info last week, but the rep swears it’s just a rumor! Or is it? Either way, it’s sure to be one of the most entertaining nights in Idol history!
TV SHOW UPDATE! Hey Scrub-ofiles! If you were saddened by rumors of last week’s series finale… we’ve been saved! Yes, Scrubs is coming back! After Zach Braff (J.D.) announced that he was leaving the show to pursue his career in directing, and last week’s season finale titled “My Finale,” it seemed the nail was in the proverbial coffin. But oh what a difference a contract negotiation can make!
ABC has confirmed that Zach has signed on for at least six new episodes of the ninth season before he moves on! The network also says that Sarah Chalke who plays Elliot (and who also has a recurring role in the comedy How I Met Your Mother) has been asked to appear in several episodes, but there’s no confirmation of that yet. Creator Bill Lawrence says the show will feature a blend of original cast members and some of the wacky interns introduced this past season. Regulars confirmed for the next season include Donald Faison (Dr. Turk), John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox) and Neil Flynn (the janitor). Judy Reyes (nurse Carla, who's married to Turk) has been asked to return but may only be back as a special guest. But hey, Scrubs lives to see another season! Woo hoo!
