Kate Gosselin: Stories Of Husband's Cheating By-Product Of Fame
May 8 2009, Published 1:31 p.m. ET
Fame is a double-edged sword, as Kate Gosselin is learning.
The mother of eight, from TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, told Larry King Live Thursday that the recent stories and pictures detailing her husband Jon's alleged infidelity with a 23-year-old third-grade teacher are "a result of our situation -- our very public lives."
"Everyone wants to know everything about us," Gosselin said in an appearance promoting her new book, Eight Little Faces. "And I feel like this is a situation where, you know, you can't believe everything that you read. You know that. I know that."
She told King that she did not consider herself a celebrity, but rather a mother and wife. She said that her husband has had difficulty in making the adjustment from the attention that comes with starring on a nationally televised show.
"I feel that Jon is having difficult times realizing that, you know, you can't go to the grocery store without people whipping out their cell phones, calling everyone they know and taking pictures of you," she said. "He is dealing very poorly with it."

She said that the family is dealing with the situation privately and will continue to focus on their eight children.
