Kara DioGuardi, who recently completed her first season as a judge on American Idol, said she was willing to make fun of herself by donning a bikini on the final episode of the eighth season of the show.

"I don't know if I was thinking," DioGuardi told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America Thursday. "They had this idea, and I thought, 'What a fun idea, that would be hysterical' -- but I'm not singing in a bikini, so who you gonna get to do that?"

She said she was confident she could nail the singing part, but as for the bikini, "I thought, oh, 'They'll forget about it' -- but they didn't forget."

She said that the fact there were going to be charitable donations made if she did it convinced her to show off in the two-piece.

She did not talk about her (unwilling) duet partner, Katrina "Bikini Girl" Darrell, whose scantily clad antics and simmering feud with the Idol judge indirectly inspired the caper.

DioGuardi, who said she has had body issues in the past, said she overcame those issues by building her self-esteem up via her talents in other, musical endeavors.

When asked if she would have picked the highly-touted Adam Lambert over eventual winner Kris Allen, DioGuardi said it was tough to make a determination because they are such different singers. She said she admired both for their individuality.
